This match was the 10th between these two sides in Asia Cup. India lead this series 9-1.

The partnership of 133 runs between Anamul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim for the third wicket was Bangladesh’s highest partnership for any wicket against India. The previous best was 113 between Tamim Iqbal and Jahurul Islam for the second wicket at Mirpur in 2012.

Mushfiqur Rahim’s 117 is the highest score for Bangladesh against India, obliterating Alok Kapali’s 115 at Karachi in 2008.

Mushfiqur’s innings is also his personal best in ODIs, surpassing the 101 he made against Zimbabwe at Harare in 2001.

Mushfiqur’s innings is also the highest by a Bangladesh captain in this format, bettering Mohammad Ashraful’s 109 against UAE at Lahore in 2008.

Varun Aaron conceded 74 runs in 7.5 overs before being taken off the attack. He now shares the dubious distinction of conceding most runs by a bowler from a Test-playing country against Bangladesh. England’s James Anderson had also conceded 74 runs against Bangladesh – however, in 10 overs – at Nottingham in 2010.

Mohammed Shami (4/50) recorded his best figures in ODIs, bettering his 4/55 against New Zealand at Napier last month.

Virat Kohli (136) scored his 19th ODI hundred – his 13th in a chase.

Kohli has now aggregated 506 runs in six matches against Bangladesh at an average of 126.50 with three 100s and two 50s.

Kohli has now scored five tons in 10 ODIs in Bangladesh. No one else has managed more than three!

Mushfiqur and Kohli provided only the second instance in ODI history of both captains scoring 100s in the same match. The only other such instance was when Will Porterfield and Eoin Morgan scored individual tons during the Ireland-England ODI at Dublin in September 2013.

It was after 207 days and 12 matches across different formats that India finally registered a win outside India. The last such instance was against Zimbabwe at Harare in August 2013 – also under Virat Kohli’s captaincy!

India have now won eight ODIs on the trot under Virat Kohli.

Propelled by Rohit Sharma’s magnificent double-century, India marched to a 153-run win in Kolkata.
