With a five-wicket win over Scotland U19, India U19 registered their second successive win in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup in Dubai. After spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Aamir Gani set up the game in India’s favour by bowling the opposition out for 88, the Indian top-order collapsed but Sarfaraz Khan once again salvaged the tottering lineup to take the side to a convincing victory. (Also Read: INDIA U19 vs Pakistan U19 - ICC U19 CWC 2014)

Yadav and Gani claimed four wickets each to skittle the opposition out for 88 after Scotland opted to bat first in the league match. Opener Andrew Umeed rallied on to make 44 before being the ninth wicket to fall as India sliced through the Scotland lineup. Scoring 16 runs, lower-order batsman Gavin Main was the only other batsman to reach double-digit numbers for Scotland. Chama Milind and Avesh Khan claimed a wicket each as the Vijay Zol-led side bowled the opposition out in 29.4 overs.

Chasing the sub par total, India lost Akhil Herwardkar in the first over with just a single on the board and were left reeling on 22 for five. But Sarfaraz and Deepak Hooda rescued the innings to take India across the line comfortably. Sarfaraz was unbeaten on 45 while Hooda made 24 not out as the Indian colts attained the target with 165 balls to spare.

India Under-19s 92 for 5 (Sarfaraz 45*, Hooda 24*) beat Scotland Under-19s 88 (Umeed 44, Gani 4-28, Kuldeep 4-28) by five wickets
