• James Anderson’s 150th ODI. He became only the fourth English player after Paul Collingwood (197), Alec Stewart (170) and Darren Gough (159).
• India lost their first four wickets with only 25 runs. That was their worst start against England. Before they were 34 for four at Rose Bowl in 2007.
• Rahul Dravid was run-out for the 40th time in his ODI career. He equaled Pakistan’s Inzamam-ul-Haq’s tally of run-outs. Now only Marvan Atapattu (41) is on top than Dravid.
• The 112-run partnership between MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja is India’s best 3rd wicket partnership against England. The 121-run between Yuvraj Singh and Mohammad Kaif at Lord’s in 2002 is the before recored.
• The Dhoni-Jadeja partnership is only the 5th century stand for the 6th wicket for India against England in ODIs. Dhoni features in three of them.
• The 59-run partnership between R Ashwin and Jadeja is the highest 7th wicket stand for India against England. The previous record was 52 between Brijesh Patel and Abid Ali at Leeds in 1974.
• Jadeja’s 78 run was his highest ODI score, unbeaten 61 against Zimbabwe at Bulawayo in 2010 is his before best.
• India scored 51 runs for one wicket in the batting powerplay. It is India’s best against England. They had scored 41 for two at Rajkot in 2008.
• R Ashwin’s strike-rate of 189.47 (36 off 19 balls) is the highest for an Indian scoring at least 25 at No. 8 against England. Kapil Dev made the previous record with a strike-rate of 162.16 (60 off 37 balls) at Leeds in 1982.
• Interestingly, from Ajit Agarkar’s against Zimbabwe and Now R Ashwin are only two better performances (strike-rate-wise) for India against any opponent.
• India hasn’t won a single international match on this England tour yet.
