Team India made the most of their second warm-up game, against Cricket Australia XI, at the Gliderol Stadium in Adelaide with 92 overs of bowling 90 overs of batting. Three batsmen retired after getting to their respective half centuries. After the batsmen put on 375, the Indian bowlers came to the party once again, getting two early wickets. It was Varun Aaron, who got the first strike, trapping Ryan Carters lbw off his first ball. India’s first warm-up match, against Cricket Australia XI, at the Gliderol Stadium in Adelaide ended in a draw with the visitors leading by 144 runs. (Also Read:  Report: 1st warm-up match: CS XI vs Indians – Day 1 ) After the bowlers impressed on the first day by dismissing the hosts for 219, most Indian batsmen got a good hit in the middle, as five half-centuries were scored in the innings. Virat Kohli’s 60 off 114 was the top individual score for the Indians before lobbing a catch at mid-wicket. The Indians began the day at 55 for 1 with Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara at the crease. Both batsmen opted to retire from their innings after getting to their respective fifties. The Indians finished Day one of the first warm-up match against Cricket Australia XI on 55 for 1, trailing by 164 runs. After the bowlers, led by Varun Aaron (17-1-72-3), dismissed the hosts for 219 runs, the Indians lost Shikhar Dhawan (10 off 20 balls) early. Murali Vijay smashed four fours in his unbeaten 32 off 50 balls. Cheteshwar Pujara accompanied him at the other end with 13 to his name inclusive of three fours. On the sunny but windy morning at the Gliderol Stadium in Adelaide, CA XI captain, Ashton Turner, won the toss and elected to bat first. Bhuvneshwar Kumar struck an early blow by scalping Matthew Short caught behind for a duck. After a brief partnership for the third wicket, Aaron struck twice in the 21st over. Wriddhiman Saha has been ruled out of the remainder of the ongoing Test series between India and England, due to injury. The All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked Naman Ojha as his replacement. Ojha will join the squad at the earliest.  source: bcci.tv

Young Baba Aparajith scored his maiden century in limited overs cricket as South Zone beat East by 11 runs in the Deodhar Trophy quarter-final in Guwahati on Sunday. South will now take on West Zone in the second semi-final slated for Tuesday. Opting to bat the Nehru Stadium in Guwahati, South Zone posted a healthy total of 284 for five in 50 overs riding on Aparajith's 121. The India colts player played 129 balls and hit 10 fours and three sixes in his innings. In reply, East managed to 273 for seven with skipper Wriddhiman Saha top-scoring with 77 and Ishank Jaggi managing to hit 55. It was the 89 runs given by the East Zone bowlers in the final 10 overs of the South innings that turned out to be decisive. Bengal's Wriddhiman Saha will lead a 15– member East Zone squad for their quarter-final match against South Zone in the Deodhar Trophy on March 10 at Nehru Stadium in Guwahati. The side will reach Guwahati on March 7. S Saikia from Assam will be the coach of the team.
