Report: Bangladesh vs India (Women) – 3rd T20I, 2014

With a seven-wicket win the last game of the bilateral series, India Women claimed the three-match T20I series 3-0. Led by Harmanpreet Kaur in the third game, India Women coasted to the paltry target with ease after spinners, Sravanthi Naidu and Gouher Sultana, helped restrict the hosts to 81 for eight. Both took three wickets apiece, while S Sharma chipped in with one wicket to set up the match in India's favour.   (Also Read:  Report: Bangladesh vs India (Women) – 1st T20I, 2014 ) Earlier, after opting to bat first, Bangladesh lost Shamima Sultana in the first over. Shubhlakshmi Sharma sent back the opener for a duck. And though captain Salma Khatun put up a lone fight, the batsmen to follow returned for single-digit scores. Khatun garnered 34 off 41 balls, while opener Ayasha Rahman was the only other batter to reach double-digit scores before being castled by Naidu. Report: Bangladesh vs India (Women) – 1st T20I, 2014

India Women kicked off the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh Women with a 16-run win on Sunday. Skipper Mithali Raj (55*) and left-arm spinner Sravanthi Naidu (4/9) starred in India's victory at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium.  After electing to bat first, Raj opened the innings for the visitors. But she lost partner L Kumari with just three runs on the board. However, Poonam Raut, who then joined the India captain, kept her company till the end of the innings. In an unbroken 98-run stand, the pair helped India Women to 101 for one in 20 overs.  With the new ball, Shikha Pandet gave India Women their first breakthrough on the first over itself. And 35 runs later, Poonam Yadav ended the second-wicket partnership by running out Sanjida Islam. With a comprehensive seven-wicket win, India Women took an unassailable 2-0 lead against Sri Lanka Women in the ongoing three-match ODI series. Aided by Amita Sharma and the rest of the bowling attack, Gouher Sultana set up the game in the hosts’ favour. The Mithali Raj-led team then chased down the 141-run target comfortably at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
