IPL 7: WV Raman appointed KKR batting coach

The Kolkata Knight Riders are pleased to announce the appointment of WV Raman as batting coach. Raman has had a distinguished track record in both domestic and international levels and has coached Tamil Nadu and Bengal with a great deal of success in domestic competition. Commenting on the announcement, KKR CEO Venky Mysore said, "We are delighted to have Raman join our coaching staff. He joins a strong core group of Trevor Bayliss, Wasim Akram and Vijay Dahiya. His experience with the Bengal team and at the Eden Gardens will be really useful going into the new season."

Propelled by Rohit Sharma’s magnificent double-century, India marched to a 153-run win in Kolkata. While Eden Gardens celebrated 150 years, Rohit lit-up the stadium with a well paced 264 off 173 to make the occasion memorable. In doing so, he etched his name in the history books by posting the highest individual score in ODI cricket and became the only batsman to post two double hundreds in the 50-over format till date.
