The 2014 Pepsi IPL Player Auction concluded in Bengaluru, earlier today. A total of 154 players were sold, out of which 50 were overseas, on the two days of the auction. This comprises 80 capped players and 74 uncapped players. 117 of these 154 have played in the IPL before. 10 have been part of IPL sides, but haven't played a single game. The remaining 27 will figure in the IPL for the first time.  A total of 178 players (60 overseas) will feature in the Pepsi IPL 2014. 66 players will represent the same side that they had played for, in Pepsi IPL 2013. 24 of these were retained prior to the 2014 Pepsi IPL Player Auction. 13 were acquired through the RTM, and 29 were purchased, during the auction. The Kolkata Knight Riders are pleased to announce the appointment of WV Raman as batting coach. Raman has had a distinguished track record in both domestic and international levels and has coached Tamil Nadu and Bengal with a great deal of success in domestic competition. (Also Read: Pepsi IPL 2014 Players Retention List ) Commenting on the announcement, KKR CEO Venky Mysore said, "We are delighted to have Raman join our coaching staff. He joins a strong core group of Trevor Bayliss, Wasim Akram and Vijay Dahiya. The IPL Governing Council has finalised the Player Regulations for the 2014 edition of the tournament, after a series of discussions.  Among the areas deliberated upon were Players’ Contracts, Squad Compositions and the Retention of Players in advance of the 2014 Auction. The Pepsi IPL 2014 Player Auction will be held on 12 February, and if necessary, 13 February 2014. The venue of the auction will be announced soon.
