Shikhar Dhawan to Miss 4th Test Against Australia

Shikhar-Dhawan-Man-of-the-match
Indian cricket's latest sensation, Shikhar Dhawan, is set to miss the fourth and final Test against Australia, starting in his hometown Delhi from March 22, due to a hand injury.

Dhawan didn't take the field on Monday and also could not open in India's second innings.

Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni said that Dhawan "may not" play in the final Test due to the injury he sustained on his left hand while fielding on the fourth day on Sunday.

"Shikhar may not play in the final Test. You will soon get to know the official confirmation," Dhoni told reporters at the post-match press conference in Mohali.

Dhawan bludgeoned his way into the record books with 174-ball 187, the fastest-ever Test century by a debutant, in India's first innings, which paved the way for the hosts' six-wicket win over Australia and an unassailable 3-0 lead in series.

Dhawan reached the three-figure mark off a mere 85 balls, surpassing the previous record held by West Indian Dwayne Smith.

In the post-match presentation ceremony, Dhawan said, "I fell on my knuckles when I dived."

Dhawan was seen outside the Fortis Hospital in Chandigarh on Sunday evening.
