Thanks to a stellar team effort, India were able to complete their first ever Test whitewash with a 4-0 series scoreline. The Indians were largely helped by R Ashwin’s nearly-unreadable off-spin. The tall spinner completely dominated the Australian batsmen as he helped himself to 29 wickets. On the batting front, opener Murali Vijay, who came into the playing XI in place of Gautam Gambhir, made the most of the opportunity presented to him. Vijay scored a whopping 430 runs this series at an average of 61.42. This included two crucial hundreds and a fifty.
