Career highlights
Sachin made his Ranji debut against Gujarat in December 1988 at the age of 15 years 230 days and scored an unbeaten 100, becoming the youngest Indian to score a hundred on first-class debut.
Sachin’s batting average of 87.43 is the highest for any batsman playing 50 innings in Ranji Trophy.
Among all batsmen who have scored at least 5 hundreds in Ranji Trophy, Sachin Tendulkar’s innings per hundred ratio of 3.06 is the second best after Vijay Merchant who scored a hundred every 2.94 innings.
Sachin is the quickest to race to 3,000 & 4,000 run marks in Ranji Trophy, taking only 38 and 51 innings respectively to do so.
Venkatapathy Raju dismissed Sachin Tendulkar on most occasions in Ranji Trophy – thrice. Six other bowlers dismissed him twice each.
Sanjay Manjrekar has been Sachin’s most prolific partner in Ranji Trophy. The pair added 915 runs in 10 inns together (avg 101.66) with 5 century stands. Sachin also had 5 century stands with Vinod Kambli in Ranji Trophy.
Sachin has been dismissed for a duck only once in Ranji Trophy. That was in 2008-09 Ranji final off the bowling of Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
