India’s premier pace bowling foundation,  THE MRF PACE FOUNDATION   entered into a historic agreement with  The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)  today. The MOU finalized today includes a tie-up between India’s premier pace foundation and the BCCI for the next five years. The  MRF Pace Foundation  over the years has contributed to the success of fast bowlers from around the world. In terms of facilities, infrastructure and training talent, the  MRF Pace Foundation  has a lot to offer the Indian bowlers. The BCCI will send current and upcoming pace bowlers to the academy to train under the Director of the Pace Foundation, the legendary Glenn McGrath. In culmination of the discussions among all the office bearers of BCCI over the last couple of weeks, the BCCI has decided to avail the services of former India captain, Mr. Ravi Shastri to oversee and guide the Indian cricket team for the forthcoming one day international matches against England. Mr. Duncan Fletcher will continue as Head Coach while Ravi Shastri will be the overall in- charge of cricket affairs of the Indian Team. In their continuing efforts to re-energise the support to the team, the BCCI has given a break to the bowling coach Mr Joe Dawes and the fielding coach, Mr Trevor Penny for the one day series and appointed Mr Sanjay Bangar, former Indian all rounder and former India fast bowler Mr Bharat Arun as the Asst. coaches of the team. The BCCI has taken note of the ICC Match Referee’s decision to find Ravindra Jadeja guilty of a Level 1 ‘Breach of Conduct’ for his involvement in an incident on the second day of the Nottingham Test of the ongoing series between India and England. The BCCI is pleased to announce that the 2014 Pepsi IPL season will start on Wednesday 16th April 2014, and conclude on Sunday, 1st June 2014.  1. From Wednesday 16th April to Wednesday 30th April, at least 16 matches will be held in the United Arab Emirates. BCCI is very grateful to the Emirates Cricket Board, its Chairman, HH Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, and the government of the UAE for their offer of wholehearted support to host the Pepsi IPL for this period. 2. For the period from Thursday 1st May to Monday 12th May, BCCI has approached the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India seeking permission to play IPL matches in India in cities where the polling has concluded in the respective state. Former Indian captain Kapil Dev was honoured with Col. C K Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award by the BCCI at its seventh annual awards ceremony on Saturday.  The legendary all-rounder and 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil became the 21st Indian cricketer to receive the C K Nayudu Award.  “I like to thank all captains whom I played with from Bishan Bedi to Mohammad Azharuddin, for believing in me. Delhi left-arm pacer Pradeep Sangwan has been given an 18-month ban after he was found guilty of having consumed banned substances.  The decision was announced by BCCI’s Anti-Doping Tribunal under BCCI’s Anti-Doping Code after the bowler’s B-sample also tested positive.   “The Tribunal has found that the Player has committed an Anti-Doping Violation under Article 2.1 of the Code for the presence of the Prohibited Substance Stanozolol, an Anabolic Steroid,” the BCCI statement said. “The Tribunal has declared the player ineligible for a period of 18 months, commencing on 6 May 2013 and expiring at midnight on 5 November 2014, from participating in any capacity in any event or activity (other than authorised anti-doping education or rehabilitation programmes) or competition authorised, organised or sanctioned by the BCCI or any of the other bodies referred to in Article 10.10.1 of the Rules,” the statement said further. Board of Control for Cricket in India president N Srinivasan on Friday took potshots at his detractors, saying they were "jealous" of Chennai Super Kings because the Indian Premier League giants have India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in their side. Srinivasan, who found his name dragged into the IPL fiasco after the alleged involvement of his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan in spot-fixing and betting scandal, was speaking at a function for the first time since stepping aside from his post in the wake of the scandal. "Why do you think people are jealous of CSK (Chennai Super Kings)? It is because of Dhoni. In an interview to a leading daily, the former India skipper said too much money in the game was proving to be a deterrent and cricketers were prone to "making mistakes". The 2016 edition of the World Twenty20, the second World Test Championship in 2021 and the 2023 edition of the 50-over World Cup will be hosted in India, it was announced by the International Cricket Council at the end of their Annual Conference in London on Saturday (June 29). These tournaments are part of the 2015-2023 cycle, which also includes another 50-over World Cup, World Test Championship and World Twenty20, along with three Women's World Cups, three Under-19 World Cups, two Women's World Twenty20s and four qualifying tournaments. The World Test Championship replaces the Champions Trophy in the ICC's calendar and will take off in June-July 2017 under the aegis of the England and Wales Cricket Board. Virat Kohli’s good run has gotten a further stamp of approval from the BCCI with the board nominating his name for the Arjuna award. Kohli missed out last year because the board had nominated Yuvraj Singh because of his excellent show in the 2011 World Cup. Apart from Kohli, the BCCI has also nominated Sunil Gavaskar for the Dhyan Chand Award for lifetime achievement. But they haven’t recommended any cricketer for the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, the top honour for sportspersons in the country. "BCCI hasn't sent any names for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award as it didn't find anyone who is fitting to get this award this year. There is absolutely no point in sending a recommendation just for the sake of it,” PTI quoted a senior BCCI official as saying.

Former India wicket-keeper Deep Dasgupta has been named as the coach for India’s ‘Above 19’ side. The ‘Above 19’ is a new concept being introduced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, which aims at resurrecting the careers of players stuck in transition from the Colts side to the senior team. The side will have a camp at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore from the 9th to the 31st of July. Meanwhile, the BCCI is trying to organize a tournament for the side, "It's an effort to groom the talented youngsters who seem to lose focus after crossing 19 years. The tournament is likely to be held in August," CAB joint secretary Subir Ganguly said. Dasgupta played eight Tests for India, captained Bengal and most recently was the assistant coach of the Pune IPL franchise.
