Report: England vs India, 1st ODI | Royal London ODI Series

 The first ODI of the five-match series between England and India was abandoned due to rain in Bristol. The pitch remained under covers through the day due to incessant drizzling. (Also Important to move on: MS Dhoni)

With showers refusing to halt, the game had to be called off around Lunch time without even the toss taking place at the County Ground.

With four matches remaining, the two teams will now face-off at Cardiff on August 27, 2014 with India looking to change their fortunes in the ODI tour.

Propelled by Rohit Sharma’s magnificent double-century, India marched to a 153-run win in Kolkata. While Eden Gardens celebrated 150 years, Rohit lit-up the stadium with a well paced 264 off 173 to make the occasion memorable. In doing so, he etched his name in the history books by posting the highest individual score in ODI cricket and became the only batsman to post two double hundreds in the 50-over format till date.
