This was the 11th time these two sides were meeting in the Asia Cup. The record now reads: India 5, Pakistan 5, No Result 1.  (Also Read: Report: India vs Pakistan – Asia Cup 2014)

This was the 10th encounter between these two sides in Bangladesh. India are still ahead with a 6-4 record.

Mohammad Talha was making his ODI debut. He became the 197th player to represent Pakistan in ODIs – and the 16th to make his ODI debut against India (later in the game, he suffered the ignominy of becoming first Pakistani to get a duck against India in his debut game).

Amit Mishra made yet another comeback to the Indian side. Interestingly, he had made his ODI debut way back in 2003, but has played only 22 games thus far.

Rohit Sharma made his fourth 50 against Pakistan. Plus, his strike-rate in this match (96.55) is his highest against Pakistan in an innings. In fact, it was the fifth highest for Rohit in an innings where he’s scored 50 or more.

Virat Kohli has now aggregated 266 runs against Pakistan. Interestingly, 183 of those runs came in one innings. In the remaining eight innings, he has managed just 83 with a highest of 22*.

Misbah-ul-Haq was dismissed run-out for seventh time in his ODI career – his first time against India. Interestingly, Pakistan have never lost an ODI where Misbah has got run-out. Their record in such game reads: 6 wins and 1 tie.

It was the second time that Pakistan beat India by one wicket in an ODI. The only other occasion was in the final of Australasia Cup at Sharjah, back in 1986. That was the infamous game in which Javed Miandad hit Chetan Sharma for a six off the last ball of the match.

Interestingly, on that occasion too Pakistan were chasing a victory target of 246!

Shahid Afridi has now hit 50 sixes against India in ODIs – he becomes the first player to do so. Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya is second on this list, with 46 sixes.

Afridi is the only player to hit 50 ODI sixes against two different teams. He has hit 63 sixes against Sri Lanka (and another 47 against Zimbabwe).
