Quinton-de-Kock-South-Africa-vs-India-1st-ODI-2013

This match was the 68th ODI between South Africa and India – 26th in South Africa and fourth at New Wanderers.
Hashim Amla and Quinton de Kock put on 152 runs for the first wicket. This was South Africa's first century stand for the opening wicket in 68 ODIs. Interestingly, the last century opening stand for South Africa had also come against India when Loots Bosman and Hashim Amla put on 113 at Ahmedabad in 2010. South Africa’s total of 358 for four is their second-highest against India, after the 365 for two they made at Ahmedabad in 2010.
Quinton de Kock (135) scored his second ODI 100 and his highest score in 14th matches. He made 112 against Pakistan at Abu Dhabi last month.
de Kock’s innings is the highest by a South African opener against India, beating Graeme Smith's unbeaten 134 at Kolkata in 2005.
At 20 years 353 days, de Kock became the fifth-youngest player to score an ODI ton against India, after Shahid Afridi (18 years and 202 days), Salman Butt (20 years and 37 days), Dinesh Chandimal (20 years and199 days) and Ricardo Powell (20 years and 266 days).
Incidentally, de Kock now holds the record of being the youngest South African to score an ODI 100, both at home and outside South Africa – he made 112 against Pakistan at the age of 20 years 326 days at Abu Dhabi last month.
India conceded 135 runs in the last 10 overs of the South African innings – the most they have conceded in the last 10 overs (41-50) of an opponent’s innings. They had conceded 124 against Sri Lanka at Kingston in July this year.
Incidentally, this was the fourth instance this year alone when India conceded 100 or more runs in the last 10 overs.

AB de Villiers completed his 1000 runs in the calendar year 2013 when his score reached 26. He became the first South African and the seventh batsman to aggregate 1000 ODI runs this year.
JP Duminy reached his 50 off just 25 balls, which is the fastest half-century by a South African batsman against India. Herschelle Gibbs scored a 30-ball fifty at Nagpur in 2000.
Incidentally, Duminy’s 50 is also the fastest by any batsman against India outside the subcontinent.
JP Duminy's strike-rate of 203.44 (59* off 29 balls) is his highest in an innings of 50 or more.
There were four 50-plus scores in the South African innings (Amla 65, de Kock 135, de Villiers 77 and Duminy 59*). This provided the 10th instance when four South African batsmen scored 50 or more runs in a match. This was the second such instance for South Africa against India. The other one was at Ahmedabad in 2010.
When Shikhar Dhawan hit Tsotsobe for a boundary at mid-off, India became the highest run-scoring team in ODIs, surpassing Australia’s tally of 182881 runs.
MS Dhoni – while on 27 – became India's highest run-scorer as captain in ODIs, beating Mohammad Azharuddin’s tally of 5239 runs.
The 141-run win is South Africa’s second-biggest against India after their 157-run win at Durban in 2006.
