The opening batsman said it was the toughest of the three tons he scored in the series as he had to consolidate the South African innings after the fall of three early wickets.
"It was a tough wicket to bat on,” de Kock said. “We had to fight for runs and the scoring was tough after we lost quick wickets. So probably it was one of the harder hundreds in these last three," he said after his Man-of-the-Series performance in South Africa’s 2-0 drubbing of India.

de Kock spoke of how these three innings have helped him mature as a batsman. "I have grown up a lot during these three knocks. My confidence is up, at a level it has never been before. My work ethic has improved as well.”

Despite amassing 342 runs in the series – most in a three-match ODI series, de Kock will be missing from the Proteas squad that will take India on in two Test matches, starting December 18. With time on his side, the 20-year-old is happy to wait for his Test debut.
"Anybody will like to be part of the South African Test team. But everything happens for the good. So I will go back to playing four-day cricket and hopefully get some runs there," he said.
