# Cheteshwar Pujara's first century (113 off 167 balls) vs West Indies is his fifth in Tests. He enjoys an outstanding Test record at home, aggregating 1279 in 21 innings (13 Tests) at an average of 75.23, including five hundreds and three fifties.

# Pujara's 146-ball hundred is his quickest in Tests, obliterating the 169-ball century vs New Zealand at Uppal in August 2012.

# Pujara became the first Indian batsman to manage 500 runs in Tests this year - his tally being 549 (ave.78.42) in six Tests, including two hundreds and two fifties. He is also the first Indian player to hit five centuries in first 24 Test innings.

# Ravichandran Ashwin is the first all-rounder to complete 100 wickets (102 at 27.25) apart from managing 750 runs after 18 Tests - his runs tally being - 770 at an average of 40.52, including two centuries.

# Shane Shillingford has captured five wickets or more in an innings in his last five innings - three times vs Zimbabwe followed by once each at Eden Gardens and Wankhede Stadium. # Shillingford (43-6-179-5) has earned a dubious distinction by conceding the most number of runs for the West Indies vs India in a Test innings, obliterating his tally of 55-9-167-6 at Eden Gardens in the first Test of the present series.

# Shillingford is the only West Indian bowler to concede 175 runs or more in an innings twice in Tests. His figures vs South Africa at Basseterre in June 2010 were 52-4-193-3.

# Shillingford is the second West Indian spinner to take five wickets in an innings at Wankhede Stadium - the first being Lance Gibbs - 7 for 98 in January 1975.

# Darren Sammy is the first West Indian and the seventh fielder to take five catches in an innings. He has joined Graeme Smith, Yajurvindra Singh, Mohammad Azharuddin, Kris Srikkanth, Vic Richardson and Stephen Fleming.

# Mohammed Shami and Rohit Sharma were involved in a 80-run stand - an Indian partnership record for the tenth wicket vs West Indies, eclipsing the 64 between Venkatapathy Raju and Javagal Srinath at Mohali in December 1994.

# The aforesaid partnership is India's fifth highest for the tenth wicket in Tests - the highest being 130 between Sachin and Zaheer Khan vs Bangladesh at Dhaka in December 2004.

# The 80-run partnership is the highest for the tenth wicket at Wankhede Stadium, eclipsing the 68 between Phill Tufnell and Graeme Hick for England against India in February 1993.

# Rohit became the second Indian batsman after Sourav Ganguly and the fifth overall to record two hundreds in the first two innings. Apart from the two Indians, Lawrence Rowe, Alvin Kallicharran and Yasir Hameed have scored two hundreds in the first two innings. Sourav Ganguly had registered his hundreds against England in 1996 - 131 at Lord's and 136 at Trent Bridge. Rohit Sharma has posted 177 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata and 111 not out at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai - both against the West Indies.

# Ashwin's tally of 39 wickets at 18.92 runs apiece in just six Tests this year is his career-best in a calendar year.
