# Mahendra Singh Dhoni has equalled Sourav Ganguly's Indian record of leading India in 49 Tests.

# Shivnarine Chanderpaul is the first West Indian to have appeared in 150 Tests for the West Indies.

# Gayle has scored 3, 0, 0, 18, 33 & 11 in his last six innings vs India in Tests. He is averaging 30.56 vs India as against his overall Test average of 42.06. His highest against India is 88 off 228 balls in the 2002-03 Kolkata Test.

# Gayle's strike rate against India is 46.74 as against his overall strike rate of 59.87 in Tests.

# Since posting a career-best 333 vs Sri Lanka at Galle in November 2010, Gayle has registered two hundreds and a fifty in seventeen Test innings.

# Pragyan Ojha's third five-wicket haul vs West Indies is his sixth in Tests.

# Ojha's figures of 5 for 40 are his third best in Tests, next only to the 6 for 47 at Mumbai and 6 for 72 at Delhi - both vs West Indies in November 2011.

# Kieran Powell (48) has registered his highest Test score in eight innings.

# Powell is averaging 25.00 in nine innings vs India - his aggregate being 225 in five Tests with just one fifty - 81 at Wankhede Stadium in November 2011.

# Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the first Indian wicketkeeper and the seventh overall to effect 250 dismissals or more in Tests, joining Mark Boucher (555), Adam Gilchrist (416), Ian Healy (395), Rodney Marsh (355), Jeff Dujon (270), Alan Knott (269). Dhoni's tally is 251 (215 catches + 36 dismissals) in 146 innings (79 Tests).

# Shikhar Dhawan (33) has posted his highest score vs West Indies, eclipsing the 23 in the Kolkata Test.

# Dhawan is averaging 81.00 in Tests - his aggregate being 243 in three innings, including 187 vs Australia at Mohali this year on Test debut.

# Murali Vijay, with 499 runs at an average of 55.44 in six Tests, is the leading run-getter for India in Tests in 2013. His tally includes two hundreds and a fifty.

# Ashwin is the 19th bowler to complete 100 wickets for India in Tests - his average being 27.68. His feat of achieving the 100-wicket mark in 18 Tests is an Indian record, surpassing Erapalli Prassana's feat of accomplishing the feat in 20 Tests. George Lohmann (England) holds a Test record, taking just 16 Tests followed by 17 each taken by Australia's MS Dhoni, Charlie Turner & Clarrie Grimmet and England's Sydney Barnes.

Propelled by Rohit Sharma’s magnificent double-century, India marched to a 153-run win in Kolkata. While Eden Gardens celebrated 150 years, Rohit lit-up the stadium with a well paced 264 off 173 to make the occasion memorable. In doing so, he etched his name in the history books by posting the highest individual score in ODI cricket and became the only batsman to post two double hundreds in the 50-over format till date.
