India have won three successive ODI series/competitions - 3-2 vs England in India 2012-13, ICC Champions Trophy 2013 and the West Indies Tri Nation series 2013.

# Mahendra Singh Dhoni enjoys superb captaincy record - 83 wins, 48 losses, three tied and eight no-result games out of 142 contested - winning % 63.05. # In Tournament finals, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is averaging 49.30 - his tally being 493 in 13 innings, including four fifties.

# Dhoni remains the only batsman in the history of ODIs to record an average of 100-plus in successful chases - his tally being 2102 at an average of 100.09 in 72 matches, including two hundreds and 14 fifties. (minimum qualification)

# While batting second, Dhoni has managed 3200 runs at an average of 52.45 in 120 matches, including two hundreds and 22 fifties. He is the only batsman to amass 3000 runs apart from averaging fifty-plus in ODIs. 

# Dhoni's match-winning unbeaten 45 off 52 balls is his highest score outside the sub-continent in Tournament finals.

# Dhoni enjoys an outstanding record in a winning cause in ODIs - his aggregate being 4650 at an average of 73.80 in 129 matches. Amongst the batsmen with 2000 runs or more, his average is the highest in ODIs. 

# Dhoni's average of 56.10 is the highest amongst the captains with at least 2000 runs in ODIs - the only one to manage an average of 50 or more. His superb record reads - 4881 (ave.56.10) in 142 matches, including five hundreds and 34 fifties.

# Dhoni remains the only batsman in India-Sri Lanka ODIs to have recorded an average of 60-plus - his tally being 2086 (ave.61.35) in 57 matches.

# Dhoni has received his 19th Man of the Match award in ODIs - his sixth against Sri Lanka. 

# Dhoni became the second wicketkeeper after Kumar Sangakkara to post a 40-plus and effect four dismissals in the same match twice. He had first achieved the feat vs Hong Kong at Karachi on June 25, 2008 - 109 not out and four dismissals.

# He is the first wicketkeeper to effect 75 dismissals in India-Sri Lanka ODIs - his tally being 78 - 59 catches + 19 stumpings in 57 matches.

# He has become the first wicketkeeper to effect three stumpings in an innings three times in ODIs - once each vs Afghanistan, Hong Kong and Sri Lanka.

# Mahela Jayawardene became the third player to appear in 400 ODIs, joining Sachin Tendulkar (463) and Sanath Jayasuriya (445).

# Bhuvneshwar Kumar is the first bowler to capture ten wickets (ave.9.70) in the just concluded competition. The said performance is his best in a series/competition.

# Kumar's figures of two for 24 are his best in a Tournament final. In the ICC Champions Trophy final against England at Edgbaston on June 23, 2013, he had failed to bag a wicket.

# Kumar has bowled four maiden overs in an innings for the first time in an ODI. He has joined two other Indian bowlers who have bowled four maiden overs in a Final - Venkatesh Prasad (10-5-21-2) vs South Africa in the LG Cup final at Nairobi on October 3, 1999 and Kapil Dev (11-4-21-1) vs West Indies in the Prudential World Cup Final at Lord's on June 25, 1983.

# Kumar has completed his 25 wickets (ave.21.96) in 17 ODIs.

# Kumar has received his Player of the Series award in ODIs.

# Lahiru Thirimanne (46) has posted his highest score in ODIs in the West Indies.

# Kumar Sangakkara (71 off 100 balls) has posted his 77th fifty in ODIs - his 17th vs India.

# Sangakkara has completed his 2500 runs vs India in ODIs - 2523 runs at an average of 39.42 in 72 matches. He is the second Sri Lankan player to accomplish the feat vs India. Jayasuriya had amassed 2899 runs (ave.36.23) in 89 matches vs India.

# Sangakkara, with 22 innings of fifty-plus (five centuries + 17 fifties) has established a record by any batsman against India in ODIs, eclipsing the 21 (7 hundreds + 14 fifties) by Sanath Jayasuriya.

# For the first time in a Sri Lankan innings in ODIs, three batsmen were dismissed as 'stumped'.

# Sangakkara has completed 1,000 runs in Tournament Finals in ODIs - 1023 runs at an average of 40.92 in 26 matches, including eleven fifties. He is the third Sri Lankan batsman after Jayasuriya (1613) and Jayawardene (1028) to manage 1000 runs in Tournament Finals.

# The 122-run stand between Thirimanne and Sangakkara is Sri Lanka's highest third-wicket partnership in a Grand Final vs India in ODIs, bettering the 116 between Atapattu and Sangakkara in the Asia Cup Final at Colombo (RPS) on August 1, 2004.

# Ravindra Jadeja's tally of 33 wickets (ave.16.51) in 17 ODIs is the highest by a bowler in 2013.

# Jadeja's excellent figures of 4 for 23 are his best vs Sri Lanka in ODIs. The said performance is his best in a tournament final.

# Jadeja is the third Indian bowler after Bhuvneshwar Kumar (4/8 vs Sri Lanka on July 9, 2013) and Amit Mishra (4/31 vs West Indies on June 8, 2011) to bag four wickets in an innings in the West Indies in ODIs - all three instances at Port of Spain.

# Lasith Malinga's 12th duck in ODIs is his third vs India.

# In Tournament finals, Virat Kohli is averaging 24.83 - his aggregate being 149 in seven innings with a highest of 43 vs England at Birmingham on June 23, 2013.

# Rohit Sharma (58) has posted his 17th fifty in ODIs - his third vs Sri Lanka. The said innings is his second fifty in the Tournament finals - the first being 66 vs Australia in the Commonwealth Bank Series at SCG on March 2, 2008.

# Rohit, with 217 runs at an average of 54.25, including two fifties, has finished as the top run-scorer for India in the just concluded competition.

# Rangana Herath (4/20) has produced his career-best bowling performance in ODIs - his first instance of four wickets in an innings.
