Eden Gardens ready for clash of titans: #CSKvsMI
Two of the best teams in IPL 2013 will fittingly battle it out for the ultimate prize in franchise cricket at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. Top-ranked Chennai Super Kings take on second-ranked Mumbai Indians for the fourth time this season, for what will be the ultimate prize.
Despite having lost to MI twice this year, CSK opener and Orange Cap holder, Michael Hussey insisted that league and Playoffs results will not impact his team’s confidence. “From a players’ point of view, we are just trying to focus on the game,” said Hussey. “If we can do that, it will give us a good chance to win.”
Both CSK and MI sport talented squads and have a wealth of options to choose from. Right from their leaders and seasoned campaigners to young impact players, the two sides have had standout performers throughout their ranks this season.
“It is going to be a fantastic match. Mumbai are a brilliant team and CSK has been a really good team over the course of the season as well. So, I think it is a fitting finale for a great tournament,” Hussey said.
What will add value to the contest is the historic backdrop of the Eden Gardens. With a packed house expected on the day of the final, the battle of nerves will be the most challenging one for 22 talented players to overcome. That is why MI coach, John Wright, spoke highly of the support of even the non-playing squad members in a big game like this.
So, be sure to watch the IPL 2013 final starting 8:00 pm on Sunday, May 26, 2013.
