Ravichandran Ashwin (7/103) has produced his career-best bowling figures in Tests, surpassing the 6 for 31 against New Zealand at Hyderabad in August 2012.
Ashwin is the first Indian bowler to take 70 wickets after 13 Tests at an average of 30.64 - the strike rate being 60.5.
In ten home Tests, Ashwin has claimed 61 wickets at an average of 25.90 - the strike rate being 52.9.
Ashwin's superb figures of 7 for 103 are the third best by an Indian bowler against Australia at Chepauk, next only to the 8 for 84 by Harbhajan Singh in March 2001 and 7 for 48 by Anil Kumble in October 2004.
Ashwin's aforesaid figures are the tenth best at Chepauk - the best being 8 for 55 by Vinoo Mankad against England in February 1952.
Ashwin's figures of 7 for 103 are the seventh best by an Indian bowler against Australia in a Test innings - the best being 9 for 69 by Jasu Patel at Kanpur in December 1959.
