So Ganguly's theory was right at the toss, chasing was going to be difficult on a slow Mumbai wicket and so it proved! Steve Smith shone for Pune with the bat, but Ashok Dinda's four-for with the ball was vital in ensuring Pune got the shock victory.

  • Harbhajan: "We panicked a bit in the middle overs, we got off to a poor start and you can't do that even when chasing small totals. Pune were the better team today and all credit to them."
  • Ganguly: "It wasn't a bad score on this pitch because it was turning, Robin and Steve really batted well and got us in a decent position."
