Needing 122 to win and go on top of the table in Group B, the Daredevils lost four of their top order batsmen cheaply, yet got past the finish line in the final over to win by three wickets. Virender Sehwag, the only batsman who seemed to have cracked the code of batting on the difficult Newlands track, scored a half-century, while Irfan Pathan’s 14 was the second-best score of the innings.
