Kings XI Punjab, true to their reputation of being a very dangerous batting side, lit up the evening skies at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali as they posted 215 runs on the board and then dismissed opponents Northern Knights for 95 to register their third win in the Oppo CLT20 2014. The Hobart Hurricanes laid their claim for a place in the semi-final of the Oppo CLT20 2014 after they defeated the Northern Knights by a humongous margin of 86 runs at the Chhattisgarh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur. Kane Williamson’s maiden Twenty20 century – the fastest in the Champions League T20 - was the highlight of the Northern Knights’ resounding victory over Cape Cobras at the Chhattisgarh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur. Some high intensity bowling and fielding, followed by some intelligent batting, from the Northern Knights put paid to the Mumbai Indians’ hopes of progressing to the main draw of the Oppo CLT20 2014. The Northern Knights took a step closer to progressing to the main draw of the Oppo CLT20 2014 after they defeated the Lahore Lions by 72 runs in the third of the qualifying stage matches. After posting 170 runs on the board, the Northern Knights new-ball pair quelled the contest in the first six overs of the run-chase when they reduced the Lahore Lions to 19 for 5. The Lahore Lions eventually folded up in the 18th over, with 98 runs on the board. The Northern Knights from New Zealand trounced the Southern Express from Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the opening match of the Oppo CLT20 2014 Qualifiers. After mid-afternoon showers forced start of the match to be delayed and the contest to be rescheduled to a 10-overs affair, the Northern Knights, put their opponents in after their captain won the toss, restricted them to 92 for 5 and then chased down the runs with three balls remaining in the final over.
