The Faisalabad Wolves gave their fans something to cheer about after they defeated the Kandurata Maroons in their final appearance in the Karbonn Smart CLT20 2013 Qualifiers. After posting a modest 146/6, they restricted the Maroons to 136/7 to register a thrilling 10-run victory at the PCA Stadium in Mohali. Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq played a lone hand and stole the show yet again; the 39-year-old, who has been in supreme form in recent times, walked out to bat after his team lost two wickets with just 20 runs on the board. Otago Volts vs Kandurata Maroons: Q3 - Match Report

Powered by Ryan ten Doeschate’s 32-ball 64, the Otago Volts made light work of their chase of 155 to register a convincing six-wicket victory against the Kandurata Maroons. The result: the Volts’ second win as many matches. This means they now have a great chance of progressing to the main draw of the Karbonn Smart CLT20 2013, which starts on 21st September. The Maroons were pretty much in control of the match at the half way mark, at which point the Volts needed 93 from 10 overs. That was before ten Doeschate came to the party. The Dutchman, brought into the Volts line-up in place of Aaron Redmond, announced his intentions by slamming Kaushal Lokuarachchi for three consecutive sixes. Apart from hitting the ball to the fence and over it, ten Doeschate was involved in an entertaining 57-run partnership with James Neesham over a five-over period. Apart from picking up several boundaries, the pair was also involved in some very smart running between the wickets. It took a sp...

Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Kandurata Maroons: Q2 - Match Report

A record partnership for the Sunrisers Hyderabad – between Shikhar Dhawan and Parthiv Patel – demolished the Kandurata Maroons in match two of the Karbonn Smart CLT20 2013 Qualifiers at Mohali. Set to chase 169, Dhawan and Patel set the platform with a 121-run partnership that almost killed the contest. The Sunrisers cruised to an eight-wicket victory with nine balls to spare. Shikhar Dhawan extended the trend of captains leading from the front on the opening day of the competition as he propelled his team’s run-chase. The usually subdued Patel got the ball rolling by picking up four boundaries in the first three overs. Dhawan had just two runs against his name when Patel had raced to 20 in the fourth over. But the SRH skipper joined in the run-feast, caught up with his opening partner soon and eventually went past him as he treated the Maroons bowling attack with disdain. It did not matter to Dhawan whether he was facing a pace bowler or a spinner – after getting his eye...
