With a comprehensive innings and 217-run win over Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy 2014-15 final at the Wankhede Stadium, Karnataka became the only team besides Mumbai to retain the trophy more than once. Karnataka had earlier won the trophy consecutively in 1997-98 (under Rahul Dravid) and 1998-99 (under Sunil Joshi).  The defending champions who had cantered unbeaten into the final, batted Tamil Nadu out of the match by scoring 762 runs in the first innings after bowling them out for 134. A Test debut is the most special moment in a cricketer’s career. It’s the moment when all his early years’ sacrifices and hard work bear fruit. Australia were 259/5 at stumps on Day 1 of the third Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Building on the 115-run platform laid by Chris Rogers and Shane Watson, Steven Smith guided the hosts to a respectable position on the first day.
