Report: Derbyshire vs Indians, Day 3–Tour Match

 Pic: Thanks to twitter.com/dgriffinpix  After three days of thorough match practice, the Indians finished their second warm-up game, against Derbyshire by chasing down 142 in 45 overs to take the Royal Crown Derby Trophy by five wickets. Gautam Gambhir (21* off 27 balls) scored the winning runs to end the game with 8.3 overs to spare.   (Usefull Link:  Report: Derbyshire vs Indians, Day 2–Tour Match ) After Derbyshire and India took turns to bat on the first and second day respectively, it was agreed that the 90 overs on the third and final day would be divided equally between the two teams. Report: Derbyshire vs Indians, Day 2–Tour Match

After spending the first day in the field, it was time for the Indians to have a bat under the bright sunshine at the County Cricket Ground in Derby. The Indians had a good long day in the field as sun shined brightly over the County Ground in Derby. The bowlers finished Day one of their second practice match, against Derbyshire, conceding 326 runs for 5 wickets in 90 overs.  (Usefull Link:  Report: Leicestershire vs Indians –Tour Match ) All the bowlers except Mohammad Shami had a bowl on the day. Shami didn’t take field as a precautionary measure for a mild strain in his left calf. He will bowl in the second innings, if there is one. ( Full  Coverage :  India Tour England-2014 ) While the bowlers sweated it out, the batsmen took turns to go off the match field and spend time in the nets behind the ground. MS Dhoni was in the nets in the beginning of the last session, handing over the keeping gloves to Wriddhiman Saha and captaincy duties to Virat Kohli.
