Mohammed Shami’s wicket of Moeen Ali was his 100th in first-class cricket – in his 25th match. (Also Read: Report: England vs India, 1st Investec Test - Day 3)

MS Dhoni’s catch to dismiss Ben Stokes was his 600th in international cricket representing India (he has also made six dismissals for Asia XI).

Stokes’ catch was also Dhoni’s 53rd dismissal in a Test against England. He is now just one short of equalling Allan Knott’s tally of 54 dismissals in India-England Tests.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s 4 for 61 are his best figures in Test cricket, beating 3 for 31 against Australia at Mohali in 2012-13. Interestingly he had scored his highest Test score (58) earlier in the Test!

Incidentally the last Indian player to score a fifty and take 4 wickets in an innings in the same match outside the subcontinent was Harbhajan Singh (60 & 4/59 vs New Zealand at Wellington in 2008-09.

The last time an Indian player scored a fifty and took 4 wickets in an innings in the same Test on England soil was in 1996 when Javagal Srinath made 52 and took 4/103 at Edgbaston.

The match provided only the sixth instance in Test history of a 50-run stand for the 10th wicket for both sides in the same Test match. The other instances are:

Austalia vs England, Sydney, 1903-04

West Indies vs India, Port-of-Spain, 1961-62

England vs Sri Lanka, The Oval, 1998

England vs Australia, Edgbaston, 2001
