The city police have stepped up security at ITC Kakatiya where the Australian and Indian cricket teams are staying.

When the players arrived at RGI Airport on Wednesday morning for the second Test match, teams of both the Cyberabad and Hyderabad police were at hand.

“We provided them hi-tech security from the airport to the hotel. They were escorted by enough security and reached safely,” Mr Thirumal Rao said.

West Zone police who has beefed up security at Kakatiya Hotel said that there will be round-theclock security for the hotel till the cricket match is over. “We have supervised and ensured foolproof security inside the hotel for the players. We have increased surveillance of the hotel premises. A police officer is deployed at the hotel roundthe-clock also,“ DCP West Zone, Mr G. Sudheer Babu said. Two thousand police personnel will be posted at the stadium during the five-day Test which begins on Saturday.

“In and around the stadium, a total of 60 CC TV cameras are being installed including at vehicle check points. A command and control room is also established to monitor all the CC TV footage,” the Cyberabad police chief said. “A Quick Response Teams (QRT) has been arranged separately to meet with any exigency,” he added.
