# Ishant Sharma (2/32) has recorded his best bowling figures in five Tests in 2012.

# Kevin Pietersen (73 off 188 balls) has posted his sixth fifty against India - his 29th in Tests.

#  Pietersen became the second England player after Cook (549) to amass 300 runs or more in the present rubber, totalling 332 at an average of 55.33 in four Tests.

# Piyush Chawla has missed 49 consecutive Tests before making a comeback in his third Test - his last being against South Africa at Kanpur in April 2008.

 # Cook has faced 1192 balls while managing 549 runs at an average of 91.50 in the current rubber - the most by an England batsman in a Test rubber in India.  He has eclipsed Dennis' Amiss' tally of 1176 balls in the five-Test series in 1976-77 while making 417 runs at an average of 52.12.  

 # Pietersen became the fourth batsman after Alastair Cook (1236), Michael Clarke (1358) and Hashim Amla (1064) to complete 1,000 runs - his tally being 1047 at an average of 45.52 in 14 Tests.

# Having first accomplished the feat of completing 1000 runs in three consecutive years - 2006, 2007 & 2008 - Pietersen has recorded the feat four times. 

# Pietersen has registered strike rate of 38.82 - his second worst when he has posted a 50 or more in an innings - his worst being 38.63 while registering 51 off 132 balls against the West Indies at St.John's in 2009.

# Ravindra Jadeja is the 275th Test player for India.

Propelled by Rohit Sharma’s magnificent double-century, India marched to a 153-run win in Kolkata. While Eden Gardens celebrated 150 years, Rohit lit-up the stadium with a well paced 264 off 173 to make the occasion memorable.
