This match was the fourth between India and Pakistan – first outside the ICC World Twenty20.
Man-of-the-Match: Mohammad Hafeez for his match winning 61-run knock.
Brief scores: India 133/9 in 20 overs (G Gambhir 43, A Rahane 42,U Gul 3/21, S Ajmal 2/25) lost to Pakistan 134/5 in 19.4 overs (M Hafeez 61, S Malik 57*, B Kumar 3/9) by 5 wickets
Hafeez: "It was a great effort we wanted to start the series well and we were great with the ball right from the very start. Mohammad Irfan is a surprise package and he showed just why today with some great bowling at the start. Saeed Ajmal and Umar Gul were also fantastic at the death. Myself & Shoaib Malik played very well, we took risks at the right time and ran between the wickets well. This is a great result for the whole nation and we are really pleased with the way we finished it."
Dhoni: "I think we should have got a lot more runs after getting off to a fantastic start. We were not able to capitalise on our openers good work and we should have easily got 15 or so more runs. We took a gamble bowling out the fast bowlers early but unfortunately their batsmen were too good today."

Propelled by Rohit Sharma’s magnificent double-century, India marched to a 153-run win in Kolkata. While Eden Gardens celebrated 150 years, Rohit lit-up the stadium with a well paced 264 off 173 to make the occasion memorable. In doing so, he etched his name in the history books by posting the highest individual score in ODI cricket and became the only batsman to post two double hundreds in the 50-over format till date.
