England XI vs Mumbai A, Tour Match - Day 3 Report

Mumbai, Nov 5: The touring England team’s second warm-up match, against Mumbai A, ended in a draw after the scheduled three days. England XI finished the game with a 208-run lead in the second innings, at the score of 149 for two in 54 overs.
Resuming their innings from an overnight score of 232 for 4, Mumbai A lost their remaining wickets for 54 runs. The damage was done by England XI spinners, Samit Patel and Monty Panesar, who finished the innings with three wickets each.
Hiken Shah missed his century as Graham Onions had him caught behind by Jonathan Bairstow for 92. After Shah’s departure, the rest of the batting fell apart. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Shoaib Shaikh’s 17 each were the highest individual contributions among the last seven batsmen. 163 runs of the Mumbai A total came through the partnership between Shah and Cheteshwar Pujara (87).
After wrapping up the Mumbai A innings, England XI lost their opener Joe Root early, lbw to Shardul Thakur for 24. Jonathan Trott (30) got a start, before being trapped lbw by Yadav. Opener Nick Compton (64) and Ian Bell (28) were at the crease when the match was deemed a draw.
