# India (276/5) have recorded their highest successful chase in the fourth innings of a Test match at Feroz Shah Kotla, New Delhi, improving on the 203 for four against Pakistan in November 2007.

# India have emulated West Indies' successful chase of 276 for five in the fourth innings in November 1987 at Feroz Shah Kotla .

# India's triumph is their 13th over West Indies in 86 Tests (Lost 30 & Drawn 43) - winning percentage 15.11.

# India have taken a 1-0 lead in the present series against the West Indies.

# Of the last eleven Tests played between the two countris, India have won five and drawn six - India's wins being by an innings and 112 runs at Mumbai; by eight wickets at Chennai - both in October 2002; by 49 runs at Kingston in 2006, by 63 runs at Kingston in 2011 and by five wickets at Feroz Shah Kotla, New Delhi in 2011.

# Under Mahendra Singh Dhoni's captaincy, India have won 16 Tests out of 32 played - winning percentate: 50.00 (Lost 7 and Drawn 9).

# Rahul Dravid (31) has taken his tally of wickets to 833 at an average of 55.53 in 9 Tests, including four hundreds and two fifties - the highest by an Indian this year.

# Just for the record, Dravid's tally of four hundreds this year is the most by an Indian in 2011.

# Under Dhoni's captaincy, Dravid has averaged 52.39 in 30 Tests, including ten hundreds and six fifties.

# Against West Indies, Dravid is averaging 62.28 - 1744 in 21 Tests, including four hundreds and twelve fifties.

# Dravid has completed his 5,000 runs in Tests in a winning cause - 5012 at an average of 65.09 in 55 Tests, including 14 centuries and 23 fifties. He is the second Indian after Sachin Tendulkar (5556) and the seventh overall to accomplish the feat.

# Sachin Tendulkar (76) has recorded his 62nd fifty in Tests, establishing an Indian record, overtaking Rahul Dravid's tally of 61. Only Allan Border (63) has recorded more fifties than Tendulkar and Dravid in Tests.

# Tendulkar has averaged 56.44 against the West Indies - 1411 in 17 Tests, including three centuries and eight fifties.

# Tendulkar, during the course of his aforesaid knock, has set a world record for aggregating most runs in the fourth innings in Tests - 1515 (ave.39.86) in 53 innings, including three hundreds and seven fifties. The previous record was held by Rahul Dravid - 1507 runs at an average of 41.86, including one century and nine fifties in 54 innings.

# Tendulkar has established another record. In the second innings, he has amassed 4410 at an average of 45.00 in 121 innings, including 13 hundreds and 21 fifties, overtaking Allan Border's tally of 4371 at an average of 54.63 in 132 matches.

# Tendulkar, in six Tests this year, has averaged 46.90 - 516 runs in six Tests, including one century and three fifties.

# Under Dhoni's captaincy, Tendulkar is averaging 65.71 - 2760 runs in 28 Tests, including eleven hundreds and eleven fifties - his best performance under any captain.

# Tendulkar has recorded 50 innings of fifty or more in India - 22 centuries and 28 fifties in 80 Tests.

# Tendulkar figures in 62 Tests in winning cause, extending his Indian record.

# VVS Laxman has recorded his 11th fifty against the West Indies - his 55th overall.

# Ashwin has become the 29th player to receive the Man of the Match award on Test debut.
